Brainwave re Rock Band guitar MIDI hacking: left + right on the D pad to move up and down the circle of fifths. Whammy bar = pitch bend.

Progress. The Rock Band guitar has 5 frets. The C major pentatonic scale = C, D, E, G, A. The C minor pentatonic scale = C, Eb, F, G, Bb.
